Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Mull, a macOS app for voice dictation and meeting transcription. By installing or using Mull, you agree to them. They are written in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email hello@usemull.com.
1. Who you're dealing with
Mull is made and published by SERGEI KARASEV IE, an individual entrepreneur registered in the Republic of Armenia ("we", "us", "Mull"), based in Yerevan, Armenia. The best way to reach us is hello@usemull.com.
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), our Merchant of Record. When you buy a subscription, Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record: your payment contract is with Lemon Squeezy, and your contract for the use of the software is with us. Lemon Squeezy's own buyer terms also apply to the purchase.
2. The service
Mull does two things:
- Dictation — you hold a hotkey and speak; Mull transcribes your speech and inserts the text into whatever app you're using.
- Meeting and file transcription — Mull records a meeting or processes an audio file, transcribes it, and can generate a written summary.
To do this, audio is sent over the internet to our backend and on to the speech-to-text and summary providers described in our Privacy Policy. Mull requires an internet connection to work.
Mull is currently in free testing and provided at no charge. A paid subscription is planned later. We'll make the price and terms clear before any charge is made.
3. Your account
Using Mull requires an account (email and password). You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@usemull.com if you think your account has been compromised.
4. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute Mull or access to it.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where applicable law explicitly permits.
- Strip, modify, or hide copyright and ownership notices.
- Use Mull to break the law, or to abuse our backend (for example, automated scraping, attempts to bypass usage limits, or overloading the service).
5. Recording other people is your responsibility
Mull can record meetings, including the voices of other people on a call. Recording laws differ by jurisdiction — many places require that everyone on a call consents to being recorded. Mull is a tool. Complying with the recording and privacy laws that apply to you, and getting any consent required, is your responsibility, not ours.
6. Usage limits
Free testing includes a monthly usage allowance (for example, a set number of minutes of transcription). We may apply rate limits and fair-use limits to keep the service stable for everyone. If you hit a limit, contact us.
7. Changes to the service
Mull is early-stage software under active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update the app. We try not to break things, but we reserve the right to change functionality that turns out to be a bad idea.
8. Warranty disclaimer
Mull is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that Mull will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will transcribe accurately or capture every meeting. Speech-to-text and AI-generated summaries can contain mistakes. Treat Mull's output as a convenience, not a system of record for anything legally or financially consequential.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from Mull is limited to the amount you actually paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost data, missed meetings, inaccurate transcripts, lost contracts, or lost time.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights in your country.
10. Termination
You can stop using Mull and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms (for example, resale, abuse of the backend, or fraud). Refunds, where applicable, are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute we can't resolve by talking — please email hello@usemull.com first — goes to the competent courts of Yerevan, Armenia. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the product changes meaningfully. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when. We'll notify existing users by email of material changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated version.
